Funfetti Cinnamon Rolls

Funfetti Cinnamon Rolls

Confetti and sprinkles in your breakfast make for the happiest day!

Dough:

  • 1 box Pillsbury funfetti cake mix
  • 3 packages active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened

Filling:

  • 1 box Pillsbury funfetti cake mix
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup water

Glaze:

  • 1 tub Pillsbury funfetti vanilla flavored frosting

Directions

Dissolve yeast into lukewarm water in a bowl and stir.  Let sit for 10 minutes.

To the bowl of a stand mixer add 1 box of funfetti cake mix.  Pour in yeast and stir until combined with dough hook.  Add in flour one cup at a time, mixing well after each cup.  Dust the counter with flour and turn out dough.  Knead the dough until smooth. 

Transfer dough to a greased bowl and pat dough with additional grease.  Cover with a loose towel and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. 

Remove towel from dough and punch down.  Divide the dough into two sections and roll out into rectangles.  Spread softened butter onto each rectangle.

Mix the filling ingredients together and spread over the rectangles.  Roll the dough lengthwise.  Cut with a sharp knife to fill a greased 9x13 baking dish.  Cover lightly with a towel again and let rise 30 more minutes.  Bake in a 375 degree oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the lid and the foil from the frosting.  Put in the microwave for 30 seconds.  Pour evenly over the rolls.  Top with sprinkles.
