Ingredients
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1 1/2 cups cake flour
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 2 sticks cold butter cut into 1/2” pieces
• 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
• Optional add-ins: chocolate chips, 1/2 cups fresh or frozen berries
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place parchment paper on two baking sheets.
Whisk all dry ingredients together. Drop butter in and use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix well. Gently stir in any add-ins. Pour in buttermilk and mix until combined and there are no spots of flour in the bottom of the bowl. If this mixture seems too dry add a little more buttermilk. The dough should be sticky.
Turn dough out onto floured surface. Gently shape into a loaf with your hands. Pull small handfuls of dough and place on baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
