Baked Vanilla Donuts

The most perfect little vanilla donut.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 egg


  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons milk (or buttermilk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla


 Spray donut pan with Pam.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  For donut combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl.  Whisk in remaining ingredients mixing just until combined.  Pour into large ziploc bag.  Cut tip end off and pipe into donut pan.  Bake 8-10 minutes. 

Mix ingredients for glaze and dunk the tops of cooled donuts in the glaze.  Décorate with sprinkles if desired.

*Recipe from Pampered Chef.  I like to also use the Chocolate Glaze that’s in The Copper Whisk Cookbook for these vanilla donuts.  Or don’t use any glaze!  These are deeeeelicious.
