Mardi Gras Trifle

A purple, gold, and green celebration!


  • 2 boxes white cake mix plus ingredients on the boxes to make the cakes
  • Green, yellow and purple food coloring

Frosting Filling:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese spread
  • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 oz.) tub Cool Whip


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Mix the cake mix with all ingredients (except food coloring!) to make the white cake mix in a large bowl.  Divide the batter into 3 greased round cake pans.  Drop an individual color into each pan and swirl with a fork until the color is what you want.

Bake the cakes until done.  Cool completely.  Then crumble.

Make the filling:  In an electric mixer mix all frosting ingredients together. 

Layer the cake crumbles however you like. I layered mine separately but you could mix all together if you like.  I made three rows of cake with the frosting filling in between and saved some of the crumbled cake to put on the very top.
